LANE CLOSURES
AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS
CURB INSTALLATION AND ROADWAY RESTORATION
ON METROPOLITAN AVE.
BETWEEN PURDY STREET AND HUGH J. GRANT CIRCLE
Beginning Wednesday, March 27th
7:00 am to 6:00 pm


Please be advised, continuing on/or about Wednesday, March 27th and for approximately 2 weeks (weather permitting) a lane closure and parking restrictions will be in effect on the southbound side of Metropolitan Ave. between Purdy St. and Metropolitan Oval due to roadway restoration. Lane closures and parking restrictions will also be in effect on the northbound and southbound sides of Metropolitan Ave. between Metropolitan Oval and Hugh J. Grant Circle due to curb installation around the center median. This is being done in order to protect motorists/pedestrians during construction operations. Please be observant of posted signage.

TRAFFIC/COMMUNITY IMPACTS:
Lane closure will be in effect.

  • Parking Restrictions during the day will be in effect and “No Parking” signs will be posted throughout affected area. Vehicles found in violation of the signs will be towed, contact the CCL or your local 43rd Police Precinct for information on the towing list.
  • Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. All travel lanes will be restored, during non-construction hours, daily.
  • Pedestrian access across the center median at this location will not be permitted due to this construction activity. Pedestrians should use alternate crosswalks.
  • Certain operations may be noisy; DDC will monitor operations and work within the DEP Noise code regulations.
  • Water, gas, electric, telephone, and cable services will not be interrupted.

Parkchester is an ethnically diverse middle-class residential community situated on 121 acres in the Bronx, New York. Over 45,000 individuals live and work in our community. We also have arts and crafts and game centers in the South, West and East Quadrants for our younger residents as well as organized youth sporting leagues
